On Saturday, September 9, 2023, the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer from the Slovak Province celebrated the feast of their Foundress, Blessed Alphonse Marie Eppinger, in the Basilica of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, at Marian Mountain in Levoča.
It was a day of the 5th anniversary of the beatification of their Foundress, which occurred in 2018, in her native diocese, in Strasburg. Along with this jubilee, the Slovak Province held the Slovak National Meeting of the Associates of the Congregation, where 5 new members were admitted. The Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Peter Majcher, Dean from Levoča.
A very special event was the ceremonial unveiling and blessing of the statue of Blessed Alphonse Marie made by Ján Frančák a sculptor from Levoča. This project was initiated by Sr. Katarína Krištofová, Postulator of the canonization process.
Blessed Alphonse Marie found the answer to the needs of people of her time. Let us ask her to help us see and understand what we should do to be active witnesses of Christ’s love wherever we live and work.
