General Chapter SDR
The motto of the General Chapter 2023 "I will give you a future full of hope" from the book of the prophet Jeremiah inspired and accompanied us during the entire chapter, from July 10th to 27th, 2023.
This is not a sentence that would leave us sitting idly by. At the chapter, we were delegated by the Sisters to discover together and be able to evaluate what we see on our common journey with God in the Congregation.
The tasks of the General Chapter were diverse: looking back at our roots, getting to know the reality, thinking about where and how to proceed further and establishing steps for further action. Important topics were also the questions of how the congregation should continue to develop in consideration of the decreasing number of Sisters, what is its role in the globalized world and how the life of a religious Sister should develop aware of the mission and charism of Blessed Alphonse Marie.
At the General Chapter, we realized that the reality of the Church in the world is not only changing, but has already been changed. Europe has already become a continent of mission. Our task is to discover how we can make the charism of Blessed Alphonse Marie alive today.
The JOYS and the HOPES, the griefs and the anxieties of the people of this time, especially those who are poor or in any way afflicted, these are the joys and hopes, the griefs and anxieties of the followers of Christ. Indeed, nothing genuinely human fails to raise an echo in their hearts. (Vatican II, GS 1)
