Sister M. Stanislava Turáková

“I know that my Redeemer lives.”
(Job 19:25)

In the spirit of Christian hope of resurrection, we announce that

Sr. M. Stanislava – Maria Turakova

handed her life to her Creator on July 10, 2026,
at the age of 84 and the 55th year of her Profession.

Sister M. Stanislava (Mária Turáková), was born in Staškov on December 2, 1942,
as the fifth child of Justin and Maria Turak. She had seven siblings.

From an early age, she attended Holy Mass almost daily.
She actively participated in the Liturgy, especially by singing,
since her two brothers were organists. She often participated in pilgrimages.

In 1968, when the time for religious freedom has come, at least for a moment,
she wrote to the Cyril-Methodius Sisters in Velehrad. She asked them to enter the Order.
Obtaining the positive answer, she traveled to Velehrad on January 2, 1969.
However, by God's will she did not arrive
there but to the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer, where she stayed.

She began her Novitiate on August 24, 1969, in Velehrad.
In the second year of her Novitiate, she attended
a two year Nursing School in Kroměžíž.
She made her First Profession on August 28, 1971, in Velehrad
and her Final Profession on August 23, 1976, also in Velehrad.

As a Nurse, she worked in several places: in Velehrad almost 22 years,
in Bratislava and Ruban. She willingly worked in the kitchen in the Seminary in Badin,
and after her retirement also in Spisska Nova Ves and Raslavice.

Sister Stanislava, with her peaceful and joyful testimony,
she was an example for the Sisters and all the people where she worked.
She was always ready to serve, help, and advise.
She was hospitable, accommodating, and pious.

As she aged and with illness, she accepted her sufferings with patience
and offered them for souls. In recent months, despite the efforts of doctors,
her illness progressed rapidly.

She handed her soul to her Redeemer at the presence of praying Sisters on Friday,
July 10, 2026, in the late evening hours.

We thank Sister Stanislava for every act done out of love, for the beautiful witness of faith
and perseverance in daily life, and for the spirit of prayer and sacrifice.
May her Heavenly Bridegroom be her reward.

Eternal rest grant her O Lord, and perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest in peace. Amen.

The Funeral for our deceased Sister Stanislava
will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m.
in the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, in Raslavice,
after which her remains will be laid to rest in the local cemetery.

We commend the soul of our deceased Sister
to the prayers of the Sisters and the faithful people of God.
