Sister Miriam Miklósová
Handed her life to the Creator on June 19, 2021
at the age of 63 and 42nd year of her profession.
Sister Miriam was born on January 31, 1959,
in Tomášov, near Bratislava. She had three siblings.
She graduated from Gymnázium (high school) in Senec
and later from a Two-year Nursing School in Bratislava.
As a nurse, she worked 19 years in the internal medicine
department in the Hospital of Topoľčany.
Sister Miriam, still during her study, secretly entered
into our Congregation and became a novice on July 30, 1977.
At that time, in the Czechoslovak Republic,
religious orders could not accept new members.
She made her first profession on October 23, 1979, in Rohov.
She made her final profession on October 23, 1986, in Straník.
She was one of “secret religious sisters” and she couldn’t wear her
religious habit until January 5, 1990.
From October 1, 2016, she took care of her elderly
and sick mother, who needed 24 hour care.
Shortly after her mother’s death – in January, 2021 – her
health condition impaired sharply.
She patiently accepted the difficult path of treating the tumor in her head.
In the early morning of June 19, 2021,
our Lord called her to Himself.
Sister Miriam was a hard worker.
She did everything consistently and willingly.
She served the sick and the Sisters with love.
Her last days have been marked by a loss of physical strength
and the dependency on others. She accepted this weakness
and humbly asked for help.
She often repeated the sentence of Job, “Should we only accept
from the Lord good things and should not the evil ones, too?”
We thank our Sister for her faithful service in our Congregation,
and her love which she put into each relationship.
The farewell for our deceased Sister Miriam will be held
on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.
Holy Mass will be at 11.00 a.m. in the parish church
in Nesvady, followed by the funeral services at the local cemetery.
We recommend the soul of our deceased
Sister Miriam to your prayers.
