Guideline For Employees In the Institutions of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Pt 4:10

As the community of the Sisters and employees in the Institutions of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer, we are committed to Christian humane values.

These values are revealed in the Gospel of Christ, the Redeemer of the world and entrusted to us in the charism and life of our Foundress, Blessed Alphonse Marie.

With our being and acting, we all want to contribute to these values being lived and putting them in practice today. Therefore, we are guided by the following principles:

CHRISTIANS VALUES

In our Institutions we strive to create an atmosphere of trust, appreciation, love, mindfulness, sincerity, transparency and fellowship. We expect our employees to support the basic Christian values.

HUMANE DIGNITY

Created in the image of God and redeemed by Jesus Christ, we see every human being in his or her wholeness and uniqueness. We respect the freedom and dignity of every human being in all phases of life and protect life from beginning to end, regardless of gender, age, religion, nationality, origin and social status. This is how we contribute to a meaningful life for people.

ACTING IN THE SENSE OF OUR MISSION

Our mission is to serve to protect life. Our concern is for the poor, the needy, the sick, the marginalized, neglected children and families, and disoriented young people.

We protect, support, motivate and encourage children and young people to develop their potential and grow into self-confident, responsible persons.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR CREATION

We are aware of our responsibility towards creation. We are committed to using natural resources responsibly and to preserving creation and our environment for future generations. We want to contribute to a more fair and peaceful world.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE

We value our personal and professional development. We are ready to discover, cultivate and develop new sources of strength.

We are open to good encounters and relationships, and we strive to strengthen the human community. We seek a cooperative management style, and promote good cooperation which is helpful in both our everyday work and our personal development.

All employees also are responsible for the image that the Institute portrays to the outside.

Mission Statements Of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer For Cooperation with Lay Co-workers

With our being and acting, we all want to live contributing to these values and putting them into practice today.

Our View on Jesus Christ, Redeemer of the World

“Christ is the Redeemer through his incarnation, life, death on the cross, and resurrection.  Jesus Christ, the Redeemer of the human race, is the inexhaustible, ever-flowing fountain of all the riches of grace that come to us through the mercy of God.” (C 2)

We are guided by Jesus Christ and His message. He is the example for our lives and our service to people.

Our Foundress, Blessed Alphonse Marie Eppinger, was deeply permeated by the mystery of salvation and, based on Jesus' commission, recognized the needs of her time with an open mind and an alert heart and made God's infinite love and mercy tangible to people. Her example gives us the strength and courage to give an appropriate response to the needs of the time and the needs of the people.

Our View on People

We see people in their wholeness and uniqueness. Based on the Christian image of man, we respect the freedom and dignity of every human being in all phases of life and we protect life from the beginning to the end.

We are open to the challenges of the needs of the society of today.

We give priority to the poor, needy and disadvantaged and to those whose needs are unattended, without prejudice to people of other cultures, races and religions.

We want to encourage and enable them to find the meaning of life and to cope with it.

We protect, support and encourage children and young people to discover their talents and to develop their skills and knowledge in order to fully develop their potential, and thus grow into self-confident and responsible persons in order to engage in the society for peace, justice, and put into practice social cohesion and integrity of creation.

Our View on the World

We are aware of our responsibility towards creation. As creatures and images of God, we have an obligation to use natural resources responsibly. We want to contribute to the preservation of creation for future generations and to build a more just and peaceful world.

Our View on Ourselves

We value our personal and professional development. We are ready to discover, cultivate and develop our own sources of power. In working together and for one another, we experience our service and our work as being meaningful.

We seek openness and good cooperation, understanding, mutual respect, goodwill and a reconciled fellowship.

We promote encounters and relationships and create places for the human community. We are open to all people and we are willing to work with them.

We seek a cooperative management style. All employees should be involved in the setting of goals and decisions relating to their field of work. Defining tasks and delegating competencies and responsibilities enable them to work responsibly and independently.

All lay co-workers also are responsible for the image that the Institute portrays to the outside.

These guidelines represent "a way of fidelity" to the charism of Blessed Alphonse Marie. They motivate us to live our mission in the Church and in the world. They also apply to the work of the Sisters in Institutions that are not owned by the Order.
